Im Rahmen von KLANG SPEKTRUM untersucht der Komponist WERNER ZANGERLE die Schnittstellen zwischen Jazz, improvisierter Musik und Komposition. Dabei stellt er Bezüge sowohl zum Thema des VIENNA CITY GALLERY WALK 2025 - Kunst ist Existenz - als auch zu den Werken der Ausstellung her.

Form, Rhythmus, Dynamik, Textur, Farbe ... - Begriffe die man sowohl zur Beschreibung von bildender Kunst als auch von Musik verwenden kann. Das Zitat: "Writing about music is like dancing about architecture" wird oft Frank Zappa zugeschrieben. Inwieweit diese Aussage überhaupt zutrifft, sei dahingestellt, Zangerle und sein einzigartiges Ensemble versuchen auf jeden Fall "music about pictures" zu machen.
Wie in Uraufführungen werden Improvisationen zu solitären Werken, die im Rahmen des VIENNA CITY GALLERY WALK präsentiert werden und so spannende Schnittstellen zu Bild und Skulptur bzw. der Ausstellung bilden.

Through their music the composer WERNER ZANGERLE explores the interfaces between jazz, improvised music and composition. In doing so, they also dare to make references to the theme of the VIENNA CITY GALLERY WALK 2025, art is the fundament of our human existence, as well as to the works in the respective exhibition.
Form, rhythm, dynamics, texture, color... - terms that can be used to describe both visual art and music. The quote: "Writing about music is like dancing about architecture" is often attributed to Frank Zappa. To what extent this statement is true at all remains to be seen, Zangerle and his unique ensemble definitely try to make "music about pictures".
Like individual premieres, improvisations become solitary works that are presented as part of the VIENNA CITY GALLERY WALK and thus form exciting interfaces to image and sculpture or the exhibition.

Im Rahmen von KLANG SPEKTRUM untersuchen ZANGERLE GARTMAYER SINGER als Trio musizierend die Schnittstellen zwischen Jazz, improvisierter Musik und Komposition. Dabei wagen sie zusätzlich noch den Versuch sowohl Bezüge zum Thema des VIENNA CITY GALLERY WALK 2024 - Kunst als Spiegel der Zeit - als auch zu den Werken der jeweiligen Ausstellung herzustellen. Bei diesen doch sehr weit gefassten Ansprüchen kann man eigentlich nur scheitern. Aus diesem Grund gilt schlussendlich nur die Devise hier und jetzt mit offenen Ohren und Herzen gemeinsam Musik zu machen. Wie in Uraufführungen werden Improvisationen zu solitären Werken, die im Rahmen des VIENNA CITY GALLERY WALK präsentiert werden und so spannende Schnittstellen zu Bild und Skulptur bzw. der Ausstellung bilden.
